Cork City Council has issued a draft General Development & Supplementary Development Contribution Scheme 2017-2021 for consultation. This proposes a reduction in the level of contribution applicable to the gross internal floor area for residential/non residential development from €54.67/m2 to €52.71/m2. The definition of the applicable area for a building on stilts or partially on stilts is proposed to be amended from the entire area to the entire usable area (i.e. greater than 1.8m). The 100% reduction for temporary seasonal permissions in use for 12 weeks, as well as the reduction for redevelopment projects, are proposed to be removed. The reduction for demolition works is proposed to be revised.

The level of contribution applicable in the draft Supplementary Development Contribution Scheme (Cork Suburban Rail Line) has been slightly increased, and the rate is now applicable to the gross internal floor area (as opposed to the gross external floor area in the current Scheme). . The 1 kilometre corridor is to be measured from the edge of the site.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Draft Development Contribution Scheme and Draft Supplementary Development Contribution Scheme 2017- 2021 are invited to  4.00pm on Tuesday 1st November, 2016.
