Services: Coakley O’Neill have been retained by Aldi Stores (Ireland) Limited as planning consultants for the development of their network of discount foodstores in Ireland since 2010. Our role involves site appraisals, the coordination and preparation of planning applications, undertaking planning appeals, and the making planning and zoning submissions to development plans, local area plans and retail strategies. This work has provided us with wide-ranging knowledge of retail planning and development planning policy across the country.
Circle K Carlow
Client: Circle K Ireland
Timeframe: Planning permission secured 2015
Project Description: The development of a Motorway Service Area adjacent to Junction 5 on the M9 motorway at Rathcrogue, Co. Carlow.
Services: Coakley O’Neill were appointed as planning consultants to provide project co-ordination up to planning approval stage and all other planning consultancy services with respect to planning application documentation and planning appeals to An Bord Pleanála.
Douglas Court Shopping Centre
Client: HWBC Ltd.

Project Description: Retail planning consultancy, Masterplanning
Services: Coakley O’Neill have been retained by HWBC property consultants to advise on planning matters relating to the Shopping Centre. This involved leading the preparation of a Masterplan for the redevelopment of the centre, the preparation of a series of planning applications and the preparation of submissions to various planning policy documents including the Cobh Municipal District Local Area Plan, 2017 and the Douglas Land Use and Transportation Study, 2013.
Mallow Town Centre
Client: Dairygold Co-operative Society Ltd
Timeframe: 2010-Present
Project Description: Proposed mixed-use primarily retail-led town centre redevelopment of the site known as Mallow South, Park Road, West End, Annabella, Mallow, Co. Cork.
Services: All planning policy, Retail Impact, Sequential Test, planning application, Further Information, and appeal services for the proposed development of a retail-led development of Mallow Town Centre.
